About Me.
I grew up in the Caribbean, on the small island of Nevis, which has quite a high stray dog population. This is where my love of dogs and passion for animal care began. I volunteered at the local rescue centre there, and even took in and cared for a stray mother and her 7 puppies when they were abandoned on the road. Coming to England I continued volunteering until I started working for Dogs Trust. In my role as a canine carer I have grown my experience with dogs, and have worked with a wide variety of breeds, temperaments and ages, working with the training team in order to continue their rehabilitation into being rehomed. Now I want to change my infrequent work as a dog walker into a full time profession.
My Experience

Canine Carer - Dogs Trust
I currently work as a Canine Carer for Dogs Trust. I work very closely with the behaviour team and the veterinary team on site to ensure good care of all the animals in our care. My role involves walking, feeding and training the dogs in our Rehoming Center, and I deal with a large number of breeds, ages and behavioural temperaments. I undergo continuous training in dog body language and behaviour.

House sitting
Whenever possible I have house and animal sat for various people. Ive looked after cats in the Caribbean, and also dogs in England that have needed medication administered, or had specific exercise requirements.
June 2010 - August 2012
Animal Rescue Volunteer
I volunteered at an animal rescue centre in the Caribbean, where I would walk and groom and help feed the dogs in their care. I also fostered some dogs that didn't enjoy being in kennels and helped them adapt to living in a home. A lot of the dogs in the Caribbean are strays or abused, so I have a lot of experience looking after nervous dogs.
